Alry the Angler's rewards got cheaper and the activity got less click-intensive. Molch Pearl rates are also up around 50%, and a Shark lure pack of 100 lures was added to Alry's shop for 1 Molch Pearl — Jagex lists a known issue limiting you to one pack per world, awaiting a fix.

  Speak to Alry the Angler. The toggle lets your cormorant eat appropriate fish straight from your inventory when you have no bait, so you stop having to make fish offcuts as you go.

  Speak to Alry the Angler. The Fishing Sack fell from 1,000 to 500 Molch Pearls and Angler’s Outfit pieces from 100 to 50; anyone who bought a Fishing Sack before the update is refunded the difference. Outfit pieces are not refunded, because Jagex cannot tell which were bought here and which came from Fishing Trawler. ⚠️ STILL BROKEN FOR MULTIPLE SACKS as of Aug 26 2026: Jagex’s Aug 19 known-issues table says players who owned more than one Fishing Sack are only being refunded for ONE, status "To be coldfixed". The Aug 26 update fixed the displayed stock in Alry’s shop but said nothing about this refund, so treat it as an OPEN issue until Jagex confirms the coldfix — a shop fix in the same area is easy to mistake for this one.

  Reward 500 Molch Pearls back on a Fishing Sack bought before Aug 19

Two rewards that were previously luck-gated can now simply be bought, and the Rift Guardian pet's cosmetics became permanent unlocks instead of bank clutter.

• Get the Abyssal Lantern from the Temple Supplies shop

  Added to the Temple Supplies shop. It now works outside Guardians of the Rift too, but only for logs whose effect means anything out there — Willow, Blisterwood, Magic and Redwood do, while Normal, Oak, Maple and Yew do not. Rune-boosting effects apply only to base runes crafted, not to extras from Scar Essence extracts or Blood essence.

• Unlock the Guardian's Eye metamorphosis

  The Guardian's Eye now unlocks a permanent metamorphosis on the Rift Guardian instead of occupying a bank slot. Anyone who already owned one has it retroactively — that is where your Guardian's Eye went. Duplicates are refunded.

  Take the Rift Guardian pet to each corresponding Runecrafting altar. Every colour becomes a permanent metamorphosis unlock.

Both quality-of-life rewards are now buyable, so neither is a drop grind any more.

Two more changes worth acting on once. The Wyrmscraig Jeweller's Chisel now cuts bolt tips in 2 ticks instead of 5 with a 1-in-10 chance of doing two gems at once, and it accepts alchemy spells with a 60,000 gp high-alch value — Jagex notes a hotfix has made the FIRST gem in a batch slower again while the rest keep the 2-tick rate. Jagex also has a further batch of Sweep Up changes pencilled in for September 2.

  The Herblore level requirement on the Reagent Pouch has been removed entirely, so it is now available regardless of your Herblore level.
