Enshrouded — Progression Route

Six stages from the Springlands to Veilwater Basin, in the order that keeps you at the right level and Flame tier for each region.

What this guide is

A run-along checklist, not an article. Enshrouded has no daily or weekly reset — progress here is permanent for a save, so nothing on this page clears itself.

Each stage lists what to finish before moving on. You do not have to clear a region completely to advance; the gates that matter are your character level, your Flame level, and your equipment tier.

Wording used in the steps

Shorthand in the step text, not tags.

Flame levelGates region access as much as your character level does. If a region feels impossible, check this before your gear.
Ancient SpireAlways the first thing in a new region — it reveals the map and gives you a travel point to work from.
Hollow HallsOne per major biome, started by the Alchemist. Designed to be hard; attempt near the top of each biome’s level range.

Stage 1 — Springlands40

Levels 1–10 · Flame 1–3. Do not build a large permanent settlement yet — a functional starter base is enough until you have more craftspeople, workshops and transport.

Levels 1–5 — first base and essential tools0 / 9
  • Complete the tutorial cave
  • Place your first Flame Altar
  • Build a small enclosed shelter
  • Place a bed, fire, workbench and storage
  • Rescue the Blacksmith
  • Craft a Grappling Hook
  • Craft a Glider
  • Clear the first Elixir Well
  • Activate the Springlands Ancient Spire
Starter base0 / 8

A sheltered, warm, comfortable base grants the Rested buff. Comfort extends its duration, and the buff substantially improves stamina and stamina regeneration — running, mining, gliding, dodging and combat all benefit.

  • Flame Altar
  • Workbench
  • Bed
  • Fireplace
  • Storage chests
  • Roof and enclosed walls
  • Blacksmith summoning location
  • Basic cooking area
Carry from the start0 / 9

Even dedicated mages and archers should carry a cheap melee weapon early, because arrows and mana run out.

  • One-handed weapon and shield
  • Bow or wand for pulling enemies
  • Pickaxe
  • Felling axe
  • Grappling Hook
  • Glider
  • Torch
  • Bandages or healing consumables
  • At least one stack of food
Levels 5–10 — the five core craftspeople0 / 5

Craftspeople are the main crafting progression — their quests unlock the workshops later equipment and materials depend on.

  • Blacksmith
Melee weapons, melee armour and metalworking
  • Hunter
Bows, ranger equipment, leatherworking and textiles
  • Alchemist
Mage equipment, spells, potions and magical crafting. Also starts the Hollow Halls chain
  • Farmer
Crops, food production and agricultural systems
  • Carpenter
Furniture, building materials and advanced construction
Before leaving the Springlands0 / 9

You do not need to clear every Springlands location before advancing. Come back later with stronger tools and better traversal for collectibles, building blocks and hidden locations.

  • Rescue all five core craftspeople
  • Activate the Springlands Spire
  • Complete the first major craftsperson quest chains
  • Clear convenient Elixir Wells and Shroud Roots
  • Obtain level 8–10 equipment
  • Strengthen the Flame to level 3
  • Upgrade your backpack when a larger version becomes available
  • Establish a steady source of food and healing supplies
  • Complete the Springlands Hollow Halls
Best attempted at level 8–10, when properly equipped
Stage 2 — Revelwood & Blackmire22

Levels 10–15 · Flame 3–4. The first major difficulty increase: more aggressive enemies, more vertical terrain, more dangerous Shroud. Blackmire is a higher-level subregion, roughly 13–15.

  • Clear accessible Elixir Wells and Shroud Roots
  • Explore Blackmire
Once you are at the upper end of the region's level range
