What the trailer confirmed
- Two new monsters get their first showing: the bird wyvern Araketa and the elder dragon Gundoraja.
- The story continues with a fully-grown Nata, as the Hunter travels to a new base and into a new locale.
- Ascendance is described by Capcom as a massive expansion that adds new content to enhance gameplay.
How to access it
Capcom lists two requirements on the announcement: it requires the Monster Hunter Wilds base game, and it requires completing the 7★ assignment “Awaking From a Dream” in the base game before the expansion content is available.
What changes on this site
Nothing dated — and that is the point. Monster Hunter Wilds has no daily or weekly reset, so its coverage is a progression route rather than a checklist, and that route already carries Master Rank as an unreleased step tied to this expansion. Ascendance was announced with a year but no date, so there is nothing new to schedule yet. When Capcom gives a firm date, the route’s unreleased step gets updated against it.
