Last Epoch — Season 4: Shattered Omens

Season 4: Shattered Omens · Mar 26, 2026 – Oct 1, 2026

Season active

Season 4 "Shattered Omens" launched March 26, 2026 at 16:00 UTC and runs on Patch 1.4.7. It introduced Omen Windows, Runes of Corruption and Idol Altars, moved the first Harbinger forward to the first level-90+ Timeline boss, and replaced the old fixed Timeline chain with Knowledge of Orobyss. Season 5 "Rage of the Frostborn" is confirmed for October 1, 2026 — EHG has announced the date but not a launch time.

The season in one sentence

Build your character through Eterra, unlock your Mastery and the permanent campaign bonuses, pick an Item Faction, enter the Monolith of Fate, earn 5 Knowledge of Orobyss to open the level-90+ Timelines, beat your first Harbinger to unlock Empowered Monoliths, then master Shattered Omens, defeat Aberroth, and push past 400 Corruption into the Uber encounters.

Fast routePhases 0-6 are close to sequential and worth doing in order. Once the Monolith opens, Primal Hunt, the Woven, Shattered Omens and Legendary crafting all advance in parallel — the ordering from there is a suggestion shaped around whichever farm suits your build, not a gate.

Season completion milestones

The large checkpoints, in roughly the order they fall. Each corresponds to a block of the route below rather than to a date — Last Epoch has no official Season Journey, so these are the milestones the systems themselves create.

Tick the route off as you go. This game has no daily or weekly reset, so progress stands until the season ends, and starts fresh when the next one begins. Season dates and past seasons live on the seasons page.

Season Progression174
Phase 1 — Season Start0 / 12

Establish the character, build direction and season rules before committing resources. Evade is a universal ability available from Level 1 — use it as part of normal movement, not as an emergency button.

  • Create a character in the Season realm
Not Legacy — a Season character is what participates in Shattered Omens
  • Choose your base class
  • Decide Softcore or Hardcore
  • Decide whether you are using a Solo challenge mode
  • Pick a planned Mastery and build direction
  • Create or import a levelling loot filter
  • Identify your damage type and primary scaling stats
  • Identify target Unique, Set and Exalted items
  • Unlock Waypoints as you progress
  • Work Evade into normal movement and combat
Available from Level 1 for every character
  • Keep useful affix Shards, Runes and Glyphs
From the moment crafting is available — these are the backbone of every later upgrade
  • capstoneEnter Chapter 2 with a build direction, a working loot filter and a levelling plan
Phase 2 — Campaign & Crafting0 / 15

Establish the systems every later build depends on. The Forge is locked until its tutorial quest is done — characters at Level 15+ complete it automatically, and completion is shared across characters using the same stash. Omen Windows can start appearing as early as Chapter 2.

  • Progress the main Campaign
  • Complete side quests that award Passive Points
  • Complete side quests that expand the Idol Grid
  • Reach the Osprix Warcamp
  • Complete the Forge crafting tutorial
Unlocks the Forge and crafting-material drops. Auto-completes at Level 15 and is shared across stash-linked characters
  • Learn to add and upgrade affixes
  • Start using Glyphs to conserve and manipulate Forging Potential
  • Tighten your loot filter as Rares become common
  • Begin specialising your build's primary skills
  • Prioritise resistances and survivability over raw damage
  • Complete your first Omen Window
Two stages: survive inside the Window, then expose and kill the Omen
  • Start collecting Timeglass Fragments
  • Keep useful Omen Idols and Idol Altars
  • Save Runes of Corruption for endgame items
They are wasted on anything you will replace
  • capstoneLeave the early campaign with the Forge unlocked and your first Omen Window cleared
Phase 3 — Mastery0 / 12

Turn the base class into the endgame archetype you actually intend to play. Mastery is NO LONGER a permanent decision — respecialisation was introduced in Season 2, costs Gold at Chronomancer Lerinne in the End of Time, and resets your Passive Points.

  • Reach the End of Time
  • Complete The Power of Mastery
  • Select your Class Mastery
  • Allocate Mastery Passive Points
  • Specialise your core damage skill
  • Specialise your mobility or traversal skill
  • Specialise your defensive and support skills
  • Fill all five skill-specialisation slots
  • Move from generic levelling gear to build-specific affixes
  • Update your loot filter to emphasise those affixes
  • optionalRespecialise your Mastery if the build direction changed
Chronomancer Lerinne at the End of Time, for a Gold cost. Reallocate Passive Points afterwards — the change resets them
  • capstoneReach a defined Mastery with a functioning core build
Phase 4 — Campaign Systems0 / 15

Several former seasonal mechanics are now permanent. Treat these as parallel progression during the campaign rather than as endgame content to be ignored until later. Nemeses appear throughout Campaign, Monolith and Dungeons; Rift Beast encounters begin at Level 20 in Season 4.

  • Encounter a Nemesis and review its offered items
  • Challenge unwanted or simple Nemesis rewards immediately
  • Empower a desirable Nemesis reward
Empowerment can upgrade Rares and Exalteds, add Legendary Potential to a Unique, or turn it Legendary
  • Empower a Nemesis a second time where worthwhile
A Nemesis can be empowered up to twice
  • Use high-level Eggs of the Forgotten on suitable Uniques
  • Farm Nemesis-specific weapons and items your build wants
  • Open useful Rune Prison encounters
  • Defeat Exiled Mages and collect Experimental-affix gear
  • Save valuable Experimental affixes for endgame crafting
  • Find your first Primal Rift and meet Skarven
  • Begin your first Rift Beast lineage and choose its evolutions
  • Defeat Rift Beast ambushes
  • Complete a lineage and obtain Evolution's End
  • Collect Ancient Bones and Primordial materials
  • capstoneFold the permanent world mechanics into normal progression rather than saving them for endgame
Phase 5 — Dungeons & Permanent Rewards0 / 8

Each Dungeon's first-completion boss quest awards 2 Passive Points and 1 Idol Slot — 6 Passive Points and 3 Idol rewards across all three — and opens an alternate Campaign route. For a FIRST seasonal character the normal Campaign path is clearest; for alts the Dungeon shortcuts are far more valuable, because stash and faction progression is shared and these quests replace much of what skipping Campaign would cost.

  • Obtain a Temporal Sanctum Key
  • Complete the first Temporal Sanctum boss quest
Awards 2 Passive Points and 1 Idol Slot
  • Obtain a Lightless Arbor Key
  • Complete the first Lightless Arbor boss quest
Awards 2 Passive Points and 1 Idol Slot
  • Obtain a Soulfire Bastion Key
  • Complete the first Soulfire Bastion boss quest
Awards 2 Passive Points and 1 Idol Slot
  • optionalUse the alternate Campaign exits where they suit your route
  • capstoneBank all 6 Passive Points and 3 Idol Slots from the three Dungeon boss quests
Phase 6 — Item Faction0 / 9

Introduced in Maj'Elka. The two Item Factions are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE for item acquisition — pick the one matching how you want to gear. Both have 12 ranks, and each rank also increases Favor gain. Alts with the appropriate shared progression can join from the Keeper's Camp, which immediately unlocks the Observatory or Bazaar waypoint.

  • decisionChoose your Item Faction
Circle of Fortune for self-found target farming, Merchant's Guild for trading. Mutually exclusive
  • Circle of Fortune — join and unlock the Observatory
Uses Favor to buy Prophecies that target specific item rewards and activities
  • Circle of Fortune — learn the four Telescope reward categories
  • Circle of Fortune — equip useful Lenses and target Prophecies for your build
  • Merchant's Guild — join and unlock the Bazaar
  • Merchant's Guild — learn Bazaar search and start buying within your rank
  • Merchant's Guild — start listing eligible drops
  • Begin earning Favor and Reputation
  • capstoneEstablish your endgame loot-acquisition strategy
Phase 7 — Campaign Completion0 / 5

Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 each grant a permanent +1 to all Attributes, and they stack. Chapter 10 was added in Season 3.

  • Finish the Maj'Elka storyline
  • Defeat Majasa and complete Chapter 9
Grants a permanent +1 to all Attributes
  • Check your Passive and Idol reward counters
Identify any missed quests now, while backtracking is still cheap
  • Progress through Chapter 10
Grants a further +1 to all Attributes, stacking with Chapter 9
  • capstoneComplete the current end of the Campaign with both +1 All Attributes rewards secured
Phase 8 — Monolith of Fate0 / 9

The major 1.4 progression change: the old requirement to follow a fixed chain through every normal Timeline is GONE. You now need 5 Knowledge of Orobyss to remove the barrier protecting the level-90+ Timelines, and Knowledge is shared among characters on the same stash.

  • Enter the Monolith of Fate and complete your first Echo
  • Learn Echo Web navigation and build Timeline Stability
  • Complete Timeline Quest Echoes and defeat Timeline Bosses
  • Select useful normal Blessings
  • Learn Gaze of Orobyss and fight Shades of Orobyss as appropriate
  • Use Echo reward types to target missing gear
  • Earn 5 Knowledge of Orobyss0 / 9
Shared across stash-linked characters. Sources below — Fall of the Empire and Reign of Dragons award 2 each, the rest 1
  • Complete the Knowledge of Orobyss quest
  • capstoneOpen access to the level-90+ Timelines
Phase 9 — Empowered Monoliths0 / 12

The game's primary early-endgame breakpoint. Season 4 moved the first Harbinger FORWARD — it now occurs during the Boss Quest Echo of the first level-90+ Timeline you complete. Killing it unlocks both Empowered Timelines and the Forgotten Knights.

  • Complete your first level-90+ Timeline and defeat its Timeline Boss
  • Trigger and defeat your first Harbinger
  • Collect your guaranteed first Harbinger Eye
  • Unlock the Forgotten Knights
  • Unlock Empowered Monoliths
  • Enter your first Empowered Timeline
  • Begin farming Grand Blessings and replacing weak normal Blessings
  • Target Timeline-specific Unique and Set rewards
  • Learn Shade of Orobyss placement and how Corruption is gained
  • Build enough defence for sustained Empowered farming
  • Farm Exalted gear as your primary crafting bases
  • capstoneReach 100+ Corruption
The first meaningful benchmark, and the entry requirement for Omen's Veil
Phase 10 — The Woven0 / 12

The account-shared Monolith customisation layer, introduced with Tombs of the Erased. A maximum of 50 Weaver Tree points exist: 13 from Woven faction ranks and 37 from qualifying first-time Woven Echo completions.

  • Find a Tomb of the Erased
  • Find and complete a Cemetery of the Erased
  • Meet Masque and join the Woven
  • Begin earning Memory Amber and Woven rank
  • Collect Woven Echoes
  • Use the Altar of the Weaver to insert a Woven Echo into a Timeline
  • Complete your first Woven Echo and spend your first Weaver Tree Point
  • Fill the Weaver Tree0 / 5
50 points maximum — 13 from faction ranks, 37 from first-time qualifying Woven Echoes
  • Unlock Idol Enchanting and create a useful Heretical Idol
  • Experiment with Set-item reforging
  • Unlock Legendary Potential rerolling
  • capstoneBuild a Weaver Tree configuration that suits your farming strategy
Phase 11 — Shattered Omens0 / 15

The main Season 4 content, plus the item-corruption systems it feeds. EHG has said Omen Windows — like its other season mechanics — are intended to remain in the game in future Seasons. Omen's Veil requires at least 100 Corruption and is bought from Apophis at the centre of the Monolith.

  • Clear regular Omen Windows consistently
  • Farm Timeglass Fragments, Omen Idols, Idol Altars and Runes of Corruption
  • Learn the higher-tier Omen variants
  • Complete all five Echo Chain types0 / 5
  • Complete a Greater Omen Window
Appears at the end of an Omen Window Chain
  • Activate a Timeglass Core
Spend fragments to spawn a chosen Echo Chain, or shatter the Core when more fragments are the better outcome
  • Find Apophis and exchange Timeglass Fragments
At the centre of the Monolith. Sells Runes of Corruption, corrupted-item rewards and Omen's Veil
  • Acquire Omen's Veil from Apophis
    Requires at least 100 Corruption
  • Run Omen's Veil and complete its three Omen Windows
  • keyOverlap all three Omen Windows simultaneously, then clear them all
Both conditions are required — this is what makes Fractured Prison able to drop
  • irreversibleCorrupt an endgame item with a Rune of Corruption
A corrupted item can no longer be modified normally. Corruption can improve an item dramatically or ruin it — farm replacements before risking anything irreplaceable
  • Equip and configure an Idol Altar
  • Obtain an Omen Idol and test the altered Idol Grid
  • Optimise Refracted Idol slots where available
  • capstoneUse the Shattered Omens systems deliberately rather than encountering them at random
Phase 12 — Primal Hunt0 / 10

Became permanent progression in Season 3. Season 4 gives Rift Beast lineages two pre-existing evolutions while keeping the number of player-selected ones, so mature Rift Beasts get more complex than before. Only ONE Primordial item can be equipped at a time.

  • Complete one Rift Beast lineage
  • Complete two full lineages
  • Complete Rampant Coast
  • Unlock the higher lineage-evolution ceiling
  • Target useful Evolution's End combinations
  • Farm Ancient Bones and Primordial materials
  • Obtain a useful Primordial Unique
Only one Primordial item can be equipped at a time — decide which slot earns it
  • Obtain a suitable T7 Exalted item
  • Use a Rune of Evolution to create a sealed T8 Primordial affix
Converts an eligible T7 affix into a sealed T8
  • capstoneIntegrate Primal Hunt rewards into the final gear plan
Phase 13 — Legendary Crafting0 / 9

The core loop: a Unique with Legendary Potential plus a compatible Exalted item, taken through the Eternity Cache, produces a Legendary. At Temporal Sanctum Tier 2+ you can select one Exalted affix to guarantee it transfers, and the craft can also roll a Critical Success that carries more affixes than the Legendary Potential alone would allow.

  • Acquire a target Unique with Legendary Potential
  • Acquire a compatible Exalted donor item
  • order mattersCraft the Exalted donor BEFORE entering the Cache
Its affixes are what transfer — crafting afterwards is too late
  • Complete the appropriate Temporal Sanctum tier and use the Eternity Cache
  • Create your first build-defining Legendary
  • Repeat for your major equipment slots
  • Push each Dungeon through its tiers0 / 4
Use Portal and Scale Charms where they improve the intended farm
  • Farm boss-specific Uniques your build requires
  • capstoneMove from ordinary Exalted gear to deliberate Legendary crafting
Phase 14 — Harbingers0 / 6

The Forgotten Knights track Harbinger progression separately from your Item Faction. There are 10 Harbingers, one per Monolith Timeline; later ones require Empowered Timelines and increasingly high Corruption. Follow the exact Timeline and Corruption shown in the Forgotten Knights faction panel — that is what gates progression.

  • Defeat all 10 Harbingers0 / 10
Each advances Forgotten Knights progression. The panel states the required Timeline and Corruption for each
  • Farm Harbinger Eyes
  • Improve Nemesis rewards through Forgotten Knights perks
  • Improve Stability, Gaze and Blessing farming through faction bonuses
  • Unlock all Forgotten Knights progression
Earlier ranks improve Nemesis, Stability, Glyphs of Envy, Blessing rolls and Harbinger Unique farming; the tenth adds strong utility such as extra Gaze generation
  • capstoneFinish the Harbinger questline and unlock the pinnacle boss
Phase 15 — Aberroth0 / 6

Last Epoch's standard Pinnacle Boss. After all 10 Harbingers are down, the Harbinger questline lets you spend a Harbinger Eye to challenge him.

  • Complete the Forgotten Knights / Harbinger questline
  • Acquire spare Harbinger Eyes
Each attempt costs one — bank a few before the first pull
  • Enter the pinnacle encounter and learn Aberroth's mechanics
  • pinnacleDefeat Aberroth
  • Farm Aberroth-specific rewards if your build needs them
  • capstonePinnacle endgame complete — Aberroth defeated
Phase 16 — 400 Corruption0 / 8

Season 4's high-end challenge. Fractured Prison drops from Omen's Veil ONLY if all three Omen Windows were active simultaneously at some point AND you still completed all three. Corruption and ordinary Echo modifiers do not affect the Fractured Prison encounter itself.

  • Push a farming Timeline to 200 Corruption
  • Push to 300 Corruption
  • Push to 400 Corruption
  • Acquire another Omen's Veil
  • keyActivate all three Windows simultaneously and clear all three
Both conditions are required for Fractured Prison to drop
  • Obtain Fractured Prison
  • Enter Fractured Prison and defeat the empowered Shade of Orobyss and its Omen support
  • capstoneSeason 4's 400-Corruption challenge defeated
Phase 17 — Uber Endgame0 / 11

Threshold of Eternity is the Woven Echo containing Uber Aberroth. Unlike most qualifying first-time Woven Echoes it does NOT grant a Weaver Tree point. Everything below the Uber fight is open-ended — push as far as your build and your own goals warrant.

  • Progress Woven Echo unlocks far enough to obtain Threshold of Eternity
  • Prepare a build capable of the encounter
  • pinnacleDefeat Uber Aberroth
  • Reach Level 100
  • Reach Item Faction Rank 12
  • Finish your desired Woven faction ranks
  • Establish your final Grand Blessings
  • Finish your Idol Altar and Omen Idol configuration
  • Complete your Legendary, Primordial and Corrupted gear setup
  • open-endedPush Corruption as high as your goals require
  • optionalOptional infinite and competitive goals0 / 6
None of this ends — pick whichever matters to you
