Permanent unlocks and completions for this version. The Fun to Play event page closes August 27, but Infold states the underlying Itzaland activities stay playable afterwards — finishing them before the 27th only adds the event-page rewards on top.

⚠️ EVERY ITEM IN THIS GROUP CLOSES SEPTEMBER 23 AT 12:49 (UTC-7). They are one-time in the sense that you do them once — not in the sense that they wait for you.

  • Complete the limited-time exclusive quest "A Carefree Summer"
    Unlocks after progressing to "Beware of the Behemoth!" in Section 2 of Chapter 1 of the Itzaland storyline. DO THIS ONE FIRST — three of the features below are gated behind progressing it.

  • Complete Sunlit Prologue
    Clear the "Woodland Voices" world quests and the "Budding Encounters" random quests.

  • Complete Into the Heartvoice Garden
    Unlocks through progression in "A Carefree Summer". Explore the Shroomseras’ subconscious.

    The Sizzle Scouts activity. Worth tracking beyond the currency: it awards a permanent collectible title.

    Unlocks after progressing "A Carefree Summer". Complete the Snail Caretakers Club gameplay.

  • Finish the Light-Gathering Journey reward track
    Four tasks unlock at a time; completing them earns Faraway Letters which run the reward track. The single best patch-completion objective in 2.9 — the track ends in an outfit.

⚠️ THIS ONE DOES NOT OPEN WITH THE UPDATE. It arrives August 31 at 13:00 and closes with everything else on September 23 at 12:49 (UTC-7) — so it is the item most likely to be missed by someone who cleared the list on launch day and did not come back.

  • Claim "A Little Inspiration for Your Next Discovery" from the mailbox
    Mailbox, from August 31 13:00 (UTC-7). Several of the rewards are unique collectibles rather than currency, which is why it is tracked rather than left to chance.

⚠️ NOT AN EVENT, AND NOT ON A DEADLINE — unlike everything above it. This is a standing system that arrived with 2.9, so it stays claimable after the event pages close. An established account may already qualify for several milestones the moment the patch lands.

  • Claim the new Compendium collection-level rewards
    New collection-level milestones added in 2.9. Check them immediately after updating — existing collections may already clear some or all of them, so the rewards can be waiting rather than earned.

Conditional — completionist

Only applies if you already own or complete the outfits involved. Skip the group entirely otherwise; it is a collection bonus rather than patch content.

  • Claim the new Outfit Compendium rewards you are eligible for
    Pastoral Dance now grants the Vinebound Branch handheld, and Gilded Dreamsong grants Skycourt Heartbell. Anyone who had already completed those outfits can claim the associated rewards straight after updating.
